With our first collaboration with legendary naval wear brand Saint James, we revisit one of the most iconic pieces of the French navy apparel – the striped cotton Breton.

This classic sailor shirt with blue stripes, known as Gitane blue, has been a part of the French navy uniform since 1846. This colab shirt is made from a tightly woven and sturdy cotton fabric and constructed with a traditional boatneck, side slits and slightly over-long arms for rolling up.

And if you look closely you will find the logo from your favorite French workwear supplier nestled in between the stripes on the right shoulder!
